Sika launches unique joint and crack sealing system

Sika has launched the next generation of its well-established Tricoflex® jointing system with the brand-new Sikadur-Combiflex® TF System.

A unique sealing system, distinguished by flexibility and combination possibilities for practically all types of joints and crack sealing, the Sikadur-Combiflex® TF System offers users variable and high levels of movement as well as the flexibility of using the sealant retrospectively.

The Sikadur-Combiflex® TF System consists of a range of jointing tapes and waterbar profiles made of thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) and an epoxy resin-based system adhesive. It can therefore be used before and after concreting anywhere in the building – whether under the base slab, in the wall or in the ceiling area.

Typical applications for the new product include basements, bridges and tunnels, waterworks, wastewater facilities, power stations and engineering constructions and swimming pools.

Key system benefits include:
• Watertight in positive and negative water pressure
• Waterbar profiles allow flexible use
• Optimal solution for new buildings and renovation
• Highly flexible and high load-bearing strength
• Also possible with high movements through the formation of expansion loops
• Suitable for different joint widths
• UV-resistant

Dan Clark, Product Engineer at Sika, commented: “Our innovative Sikadur-Combiflex® TF System is unique not only because it offers a complete, certified solution but also because it can be used both before and after concreting has taken place – something that sets it apart from similar products.

“Due to its high chemical resistance, maximum elasticity providing a watertight result and its resistance against root penetration, weather and UV-rays, the product is suitable to be used in almost any environment.

“The system also delivers high gas resistance offering protection against Radon, the colourless, odourless, radioactive gas.”

The Sikadur-Combiflex® TF System has been tested as a stand-alone system as well as in combination with the SikaProof® complete system, meaning it can meet all requirements and forms of details and transitions.
