This new CPD will look at changes to Approved Docmunet L and the importance of taking a fabric first approach for reducing energy usage in the first instance.

SUSTAINABLE USE OF PVCU WINDOWS TO MAXIMISE ROI

Looking at the specification of windows, specifially PVC-U windows. How the windows market has changed over the years – looking at past, present and future window specifications and requirements. Looking at how PVC windows are appropriate in specialist applications – zero carbon developments etc. Future developments within the window industry and how companies are future proofing their systems.

SUSTAINABLE AND HIGH PERFORMANCE LIQUID SCREEDS

This CPD will increase the audiences’ awareness and knowledge about the major environmental benefits in choosing an anhydrite liquid screed, produced with 98% recycled waste product and offering large carbon footprint savings compared to traditional and cement base screeds. We also look at some key features of these screeds; better performance with Underfloor Heating, acoustic results as well as the option to have the screed as a final wearing robust yet aesthetic surface.

TABS (THERMALLY ACTIVATED BUILDING STRUCTURES)

Thermally Activated Building Structures (TABS) is an innovative heating & cooling solution which utilises the large thermal mass of the concrete slab via integrated pipework. It is already used on various BREEAM Excellent / Passivhaus certified projects across the UK.
